Tools for Learning Python
There are only two real choices: Thonny and PyCharm. IDLE, Sublime Text, TextWrangler, Jupyter Notebook, and VS Code for Python are more trouble than they’re worth.
PyCharm has:
Debugger
Type linting
Code style linting
Numerous small conveniences that help you code better
While PyCharm is marketed towards professionals, it’s also excellent for beginners. It’s tools are worth the time it takes to learn to use them.
Thonny has:
Slightly more helpful explanations of why your code is wrong
Thonny may be more helpful for complete beginners to computer programming but it is limiting.
